This course also covers the history and the development of photography transition from conventional to digital technology. All basic aspects in photography are covered including technical and compositional know-how skills.

DVF10223 INTRODUCTION TO ART & DESIGN

Introduction to Art and Design introduces students to the basic elements and principles of art and design. Students will learn the elements and principles used in visual communications and design, and determine the styles and trends that form the essences of all aspects in design application. Students will be introduced to a wide range of artistic and design techniques.

DVG10262 PROLOGUE TO GRAPHIC DESIGN

Prologue to Graphic Design introduces graphic design as a broad discipline that encompasses many different aspects and elements. Students will be exposed to the history of graphic design from the late 19th to the early 20th century and introduced to the icons of graphic design. Furthermore, the design thinking method will be practiced in generating ideas to develop appropriate design. Current issues and trends of graphic design will be continuously discussed to create an awareness of designs that may be philosophical sensory, aesthetic, emotional or political in nature.

DVF10212 INTRODUCTION TO ART HISTORY

Introduction to Art History introduces students to the history of art starting from the pre- historic age until the 20th century. It is an intensive study of the fundalmentals and vocabulary of art focusing on the historical, cultural and stylistic context. Students will explore various art styles, techniques, media and leading artists throughout different art movements.

DVG10243 INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING

Introduction To Drawing introduces students to the basic drawing by using various of drawing techniques as well as exploring the variety of drawing materials that are available. The skills are developed and sensitivity toward the aesthetics of form and space including linear perspective, value, line and line quality are explored. Experiences will be gained from the exploration and observing the physical environment. Students will produce the artwork on a variety of papers from still-life, landscape, animal and self-portrait images
